Frontier City Season Passes!

If you know me in real life, you know that I live here now. It turns it that for my family of five, this is one of the cheapest forms of summer entertainment out there!

Let’s break this down:

The basic pass at Frontier City is $6.99/month per person. This pass gets you into Frontier City, White Water Bay and any Six Flags park as many times as you want! You also get free parking.

Normally, one ticket costs $40. When you add the $20 parking, that one visit is nearly the same as your yearly membership costs.

My family of 5 pays under $40/month for these passes. Under $40/month for unlimited entertainment. This includes concerts at Frontier City and floating films at White Water Bay.

When was the last time you’ve found any family activity for less than $40?

Added bonus:

When you get your season passes during certain specials, they’ll upgrade you for free!

Obviously we got in on one of those specials, so now we have a “Platinum” membership instead of the “Gold” that we pay for.

This means we get:

  • Unlimited drinks every time we enter the park
  • One free ride photo
  • One “Diamond Preferred” parking pass
  • One skip-a-line pass
  • Higher discounts on food and merchandise

What about the off season?

When you lock yourself into a year-long membership to an amusement park, you’ll probably end up paying your fees during the months when it’s closed.

Luckily for us, those months are limited. From September-October, Frontier City is open for Fright Fest, and from November to January, you can enjoy Holiday in the Park.

While they will only be open on the weekends, you can still enjoy a few visits during those months.

That leaves about 3 months where you’ll pay and you won’t be able to visit the park, which is truly sad. But you know what isn’t sad? When we signed up for our membership, Frontier City offered us 3 free months after our first year!

So the months of May-July next year will be completely free for us.

What other options are there?

We’ve always tried to purchase season passes for something in Oklahoma City as long as we’ve lived here.

We’ve done the Science Museum – which can be pricey, but again, pays for itself after a couple visits. A family membership to Science Museum Oklahoma is a one-time fee of $165.

And then there’s the Oklahoma City Zoo season pass. A family pass to the zoo will only run you $90. Once a year, however, you can purchase it from Mathis Brothers for less than $70!

Why did we pick the membership with the monthly fee and the blackout dates?

We picked the amusement park membership over the less expensive memberships this year because it includes 2 separate venues in OKC, as well as 20 other parks across the country. Planning vacations will be so much easier knowing that we’ve got a huge chunk already paid for. As long as we can help it, I think we’ll be sticking with this membership for a few years.

The zoo and science museum are great and they keep improving, but we can always check them out on their free admission days, which usually take place a couple times a year.
